Hello lovelies! I got back so late from a fun night out yesterday (hence this morning post!), and woke up embarrassingly late (*cough 10am cough*)… So my ‘morning’ 5 miler is now going to be an afternoon run instead!
I must admit though, it has grown on me. Now there’s a sentence I’d never thought I’d say! I would still take outdoor running any day, but for speedwork especially this thing is SO useful, and is really helping with my speed!
Case in point: yesterday’s tempo run. I ran the warm-up and cool-down miles at a very slow pace, and my ‘fast’ mile at a 7.30 min/mile pace. I have high hopes that with the work of this marvellous machine (<—did I just write that?!), I’ll be able to get all my miles at this pace, or dare I say it, faster?
…but still quite dull! On outdoor runs, there is so much more! Peering into people’s gardens to admire their garden gnome collection, having imaginary races with other runners, window shopping as you run through the high street… So do you have any tips on how to beat treadmill boredom?
I finished up my run with 15 minutes on the elliptical. See this isn’t boring for me, because the elliptical machines face the TVs (Star Wars was on! ), and I can read on it if I want!
And then, I headed off to a friend’s house for a girl’s night in! Though I love dressing up sometimes, the great thing about being in with good friends is you can just leave your hair as a mess, wear what you want and have no make-up onand they won’t even notice or care! I wore a baggy jumper and my stretchiest jeans to prepare for a great night! Check out how cool I look:
To be honest, any film that has songs that I can sing along to very loudly and out-of-tunely is a great movie in my book, but Moulin Rouge is just pure genius. I love it.
So favourite movies you guys? Treadmill opinions and boredom busters? And have you tried the blogworld famous cookie dough balls yet? If you haven’t, no kidding, you MUST! That is an absolute order! I made the Chic Life’s chocolate chip ones, but I may also be making Mama Pea’s cinnamon-sugar ones later this week…!
